Prof. Ibok Oduro
Prof. (Mrs.) Ibok Nsa Oduro is passionate about youth development and actively works to effect transformation. Prof. Oduro obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a Ph.D. in Postharvest Technology from Cranfield University, U.K. She holds a certificate in Executive Leadership Development from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST and has vast leadership experience from the various positions she has held in academic and non-academic institutions.
Over the years, Prof. Oduro has used this experience to inspire many lives and help youth develop moral, ethical, and transformative leadership skills. She serves as a mentor for the Food Systems Research Network for Africa (FSNet Africa) to support early career scientists.
Prof. Oduro is an eminent Council Member of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ghana, the President of Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WiSTEMGh), a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OSWD), the African Scientific Institute (ASI), a life patron of the Ghana Science Association, Kumasi
branch, and a founding member of the Ghana Association of Food Scientists and Technologists. Prof. Oduro has continually devoted her time to demonstrating holistic leadership, motherhood, and mentorship. At KNUST, she was the first female Provost of the College of Science, KNUST (2016–2019), Dean for the Faculty of Biosciences (2015–2016), Vice Dean for the Faculty of Biosciences (2008–2010), the Head of the Department of Food Science & Technology (2014–2016) and Biochemistry & Biotechnology (2007–2009, 2010–2014), Vice Dean for International Student Affairs, KNUST (2002–2004), and Vice Dean of Students (2004–2006) among others.
Collaborating with Nurturing Dreams Ghana, Prof. Ibok Oduro is touching many young persons through the Ibok Oduro Foundation.
She is the Chairperson for the Board of Directors for the International Leadership Foundation (ILF) Ghana and a facilitator for the Executive Diploma in Leadership (EDL) program for Southern and Eastern Africa, piloted by ALMA University College, Ghana. Her life has been a blessing and inspiration to thousands of young people who are thriving in various endeavors around the globe.
