Story from a former Minister of State, East Africa

When I was traveling in the night, going from home to the island was three hours by boat.  Suddenly, my boat capsized.  I had to swim for three hours in the night.  Then I got a boat and went back into the lake to look for my two friends.  Thank God they had life jackets on.  Then I realized that had I died, my Mercedes Benz which I kept so clean and sometimes would not let people sit in it with muddy feet was not worth it all.   I realized that the boat I lost was not worth my life.  I realized that the property I have and the people I am with were all but nothing.

When young men and women leave university, they look at this big vast world.  They dream of driving fast cars.  They dream of owning fantastic big houses.  They dream of being the bosses at big jobs, but alas, that is not success.

In this world we spend a lot of time, chasing after the wind, chasing after the useless and forget that the useful are just there for the grabs... for nothing!
